Montana CBC results 2019-20

We tallied 233,758 individual birds from 33 circles; a cumulative 141 species on count day and 4 more during count week. Rare birds counted were the Western Tanager, Brown Thrasher, Green-tailed Towhee, Black-headed Grosbeak, and Lesser Goldfinch. Two species were added to the cumulative list for Montana CBCs – Western Tanager and Chukar. Continue reading

Montana 2018/19 CBC Summary

Montana’s Christmas Bird Count (CBC) #119 was cold and fairly snowy at most sites, and ushered in a rather brutal winter season state-wide.
