All-day field trip to Brown’s Lake led by Jim Brown.
This trip includes several stops at prairie potholes and Brown’s Lake in the Ovando Valley. Last year, the trip had 71 species which included 17 duck species, Snow Geese, Common Loons, Red-necked Grebes, and Bonaparte’s Gulls. A drive through some aspen groves generally produces Red-naped and Williamson’s Sapsuckers. Raptors include Red-tailed Hawks, Bald and Golden Eagles, Northern Harrier, and American Kestrel. Sandhill Cranes and Long-billed Curlews are also possible.
Meet in the northwest corner of the Adams Center parking lot at 8:00 am.
