Natural historian, birder, nerd. Robert has dreamed of becoming an ornithologist since the age of 10. Now, after countless years of schooling, he is finally on his way to becoming Dr. Bird Nerd. At the University of Montana, Robert works in the Flight Laboratory with Dr. Bret Tobalske unlocking the secrets of non-vocal sounds produced by the wings of pigeons and doves.

Robert is dedicated to science education and strives to utilize natural history collections as teaching tools, connecting students to nature in new and exciting ways. He also uses his photography and graphic design to bring scientific imagery to the public realm. Robert loves being in the classroom and his engaging and enthusiastic teaching style has earned him several awards.
