The Raptor View Research Institute is excited to launch an Adopt-an-Osprey-Nest citizen science program and are looking for volunteers to help monitor osprey nests along the Bitterroot and Clark Fork Rivers. By involving community members, the institute can monitor more nests across a larger area and visit them more frequently than would otherwise be possible. This effort will help them collect valuable data on osprey breeding activity and nest success while providing a meaningful opportunity for the local community to contribute to ongoing research and conservation. Volunteers will be asked to:

Monitor an assigned nest a minimum of 4 times between now and the end of July

Observe nests from a distance using binoculars or a spotting scope

Record basic observations on nesting activity and chick development
No prior experience is necessary—just an interest in birds and a willingness to help! Monitoring has already begun so don't wait.
